Projects

Since September 2017 we have been working with Cadwyn Clwyd to deliver community energy projects across Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire. We work with the LEADER theme 4, a community led development fund that aims to provide specific and tailored support to help communities and social enterprises explore renewable energy sources and projects that tackle climate change. This work could involve initial feasibility and viability studies on potential schemes for renewable energy generation, as well as pilot schemes, trainings and mentoring.

Projects we have developed so far include:

  • Ediyrnion Electric Car Club – A member run electric car club scheme, including installation of EV charging points in Corwen

  • Brymbo power from the Sun – A solar farm and battery storage scheme
  • Flintshire Heat Mapping project – Exploring the potential of rural district heating systems to reduce fuel poverty
  • EV charging points feasibility study across Flintshire and Denbighshire
  • Brymbo housing development – Feasibility study into rural district heating
